Surround Yourself with the Best

We are past the halfway point of 2017 already, which is a good chance to do some reflecting on the year so far and decide what you want you want to make of the second half. The biggest lesson I have learned so far in 2017?

The people you surround yourself with have a MASSIVE impact on the way you live your life! 

As I wrote earlier in the year, I have dedicated this year to stepping out of my comfort zone and increasing my knowledge and skills to take the Peachi Community to the next level. Since Peachi PT began in 2011 I have spent a lot of time working with clients and building the business on my own. But I needed a change! So I am taking part in a 12-month business mentor program for fitness professionals. Over the weekend, I spent 3-days in Sydney with mentors and other participants in this program networking and learning.

The amount of inspiration, motivation and elation I have every time I work with this group is INDESCRIBABLE. Surrounding myself with people who have similar goals, experiences and a shared passion for health, fitness, and growth is the BEST decision I could have made – I have a supportive network of experts and peers I have never had before to help me become the best version of myself.

ARE THE PEOPLE YOU SPEND YOUR TIME AROUND HELPING YOU LIVE A HEALTHY LIFE AND REACH YOUR FITNESS GOALS?
It may not seem like an important question, but think about it…
 If your goal is fat loss hanging out with someone who loves having pizza, soft drink and chocolate a few nights a week makes it difficult to stay disciplined.
 If your goal is to be more active and go for a walk every night after work, having someone regularly encourage you to ditch the exercise and join them on the couch for Netflix is not going to make it easy to lead an active lifestyle.
 If your gym buddy is constantly complaining about exercise, how much does that plummet your enthusiasm and tempt you to just call it quits for the day?

THE PEOPLE YOU SPEND THE MOST TIME AROUND ARE THE PEOPLE WHO WILL INFLUENCE YOUR ATTITUDE, MOTIVATION AND ACTION THE MOST!
So…
 If you want to improve your nutrition have dinner with someone who enjoys healthy food instead of tempting you with deep fried food and ice-cream.
 If you want to exercise more regularly find a friend who enjoys exercise or join a class or community that will support you and encourage you to increase your fitness.

MAKE SURE THE MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE ARE HAVING A POSITIVE IMPACT ON YOU! Having the support of like-minded people will have a phenomenal impact on everything you do and make it possible for you to be a better version of yourself.

ALSO – don’t forget to regularly check yourself – are you a positive influence on others around you? Even if someone’s goals make no sense to you resist the urge to criticise or throw them off track – show support, show understanding and help them reach their full potential.
